Canada Day Baby

Zoe made her apperance at 3:01 am Canada Day. Breakdown on how the hours went prior to delivery....


Thursday afternoon I had a doctors apt, where the doctor checked me and said I was 4 cm + diliated. I had mentioned not feeling movement in the morning so they put me on a monitor and thats when the contractions started. They were about 8 mins apart and not too bad. On the way home they got a bit more intense. After hanging out at home we decided at 9:30 pm it would be a better idea to head to the hospital to get checked, worst case they would send me back home.....


We arrived at 9:50 and they had me on a monitor to check heartrate and contractions. At about 10:30 they checked me and said I was at 6 cm + but water was still intact so they had me walking... I walked and walked .... at about 1am they checked me again and made a decision to break my water. ( the whole time I was enduring contractions every 5 mins with a decent amount of pain, but was manageable )


Once my water was broken it went fast and went from pain level 2 to 10 with no trtansition inbetween. There wasn`t even enough time between contractions to give me an epidural! 3 sets of pushes and Zoe was born!!!!

Moving companies are brutal - Our stuff arrived today, but in true moving company style it was a mess - Crushed boxes, glass fragile boxes upside down..... typical movers. If you want it done correctly the only people you can count on if yourself.

I'm happy our stuff has arrived, but dissapointed that we now have to go through the whole garage on the weekend to re-sort and re-organize it all seeing that it was just shelped into the garage. What took the movers 4+ hours leaving montreal only took them 2 to offload so you know there was no packing and stacking neatly done. I just hope the damages are minimal as we had some nice stuff and I would hate to see it all broken.

Update on me being prego.... still am - Today was my official due date... come on baby!!!! I had a doc apt yesterday - 4 cm diliated so I diliated 1.5 from 2 weeks ago and the baby's head is WAY low. I have another apt on Thursday *Yeah another $ 50 to shell out because of the healthcare card rules* If nothing happens this weekend I have an ultrasound scheduled on July 5th then I see the doctor again same day to see what they have planned for me.... I honestly don't want to have to make it to that point. I'm so done with being fat and prego already - 9 FULL months is enough I don't need to go longer, and the longer they make me wait the bigger the baby the more of a freaking chance i'm going to have to deliver with a C-section which is something I would LOVE TO AVOID for so many reasons.

With all that the weather is super, all is good.

Ha - So I thought that Saturday would be the lucky day.... all day contractions at about 10 - 12 mins apart but come 3pm I napped and woke up with nothing.... they were gone as quickly as they started *boo*

So no baby yet - maybe tonight - tomorrow I have a doctors apt so I should find out what the scoop is on how much longer it'll be.

Approaching 40 weeks

I'll be starting my 40th week on Sunday and still no sign of Zoe.... BRUTAL! I can't wait to see this kids little face already. I'm feeling good, sleeping is tougher and the heartburn still exisits even though my belly has dropped a considerable amount.

Today Cynthia went off with Mammie, Pappie, buddy, Mike and Hux up to Kicking Horse as my sister (buddy) has a wedding that Mike is helping her with and my mom had agreed to baby sit Huxley a while back. As I'm due any day it was best that Cynthia go with them for the weekend incase Claude and I have a surprise arrival.

As for me I walked almost all day yesterday, and today drove up to Banff with Claude to walk around some more in hopes that perhaps it will help.... but alas nothing yet. Tomorrow Claude is planning on going into Calgary to check out some WOW TCG playing at the local card strore, I'm not 100% if I'm going to tag along or not, but 1 things for sure he's bringing my mom's cell phone with him in case anything happens.

I would have loved to post some pictures we took today but the download wire for the pictures seems to have gone up to Kicking Horse with my mom's camera so you'll have to wait until Sunday for pictures.

Claude has Landed

Finally after 1 month, Claude arrived on Wednesday. I was so excited to see him, and so was munchkin for that matter.

As he took the week off we spent a few days hanging out together, but Monday is back to the grind for Claude, unless Zoe decides to make an appearance. So far it doesn't look like it though.... We are still waiting.

Up for this weekend.... Getting out of the house today before it rains again is the plan, but where we will go not sure yet. I know Claude has been dying to go check out a card place downtown so we'll most likely make a run down to check it out.

Long night.... even longer day

Last night was rough... braxton hicks contractions all night long, and when I wasn't contracting she was moving around, but not just little movements, full on body shifting motions. I pray to have a good day today without contractions so I can catch up on the lack of sleep I got last night.... and so that Claude doesn't hop off the plane tomorrow to come meet me at the hospital instead of the bag pickup *lol*

It's going to be a very long day today for both of us - I'm super anxious to be able to kiss and hug my loving husband which I haven't had a chance to do in almost a month. As for Claude he advised me yesterday that the moving company was expected between 3pm - 8pm.... which bites because now it's a waiting game on his end today.

I've decided not to get Cynthia all excited about daddy's arrival so she has a good day today at daycare without getting upset that she is not home with me. It will be a surprise for her tomorrow.

Should I bother

Curious question - Should I bother blogging or is this just a big waste of time?

Anyways here's the scoop on what's been going on.... I went to see the doctor yesterday and was advised I'm already dialated to 3 cm's which doesn't mean much but could mean so much at the same time. I asked the doctor if she thinks I will at least make it until Wednesday so that Claude will be here, and she seemed confident that I would be fine. I'm a bit nervous that I won't, especially that this weekend my mom is in Red Deer watching Huxley for my sister was she has a big photo shoot in northern Alberta. Cross your fingers for us.

As for Cynthia she is doing good, she's been attending Day Care since Monday and aside from today's little melt down she's been enjoying it from what I can see. She is speaking more and more english it's unbelievable what 3 weeks does. I am being uber diligent about speaking to her in French even when she answers me in english because one thing is sure I don't want her losing her french.

The weather is beautiful today, but it's short lived again with showers in the forecast for the weekend. I'm starting to think that June here in Alberta is the May we usually have in Quebec. There is even an apple free that is still only getting ready to bloom here *lol*

Weekend plans.... NOT HAVE A BABY *lol* I think munchkin and I are going to watch a movie tonight and have some popcorn, tomorrow if it doesn't rain we will hit the garage sales as I'm looking for some clothes for Cynthia and Zoe, along with a double stroller. My dad works Saturday until 1pm so perhaps in the PM we will do something but that's still to be determined.
