Holy smokes where is time going?
Zoé's 5 months old today.... I can't believe it, feels like just yesterday she was this tiny baby and now she's laughing & babbling to show how she feels. I'm so happy that she has been easy this far, she sleeps so/so in the day and sleeps well at night ( mind you it hasn't been a full night is over a month ) but overall she's super easy and as long as you tend to her needs she's easy to clam down from a crying fit.
It's been a busy week - Almost all the packing is done. I can't believe how much crap one accumulates after only 6 months. I guess opening a box here and there doesn't seem like much but when you have to pack it all back up it's alot of stuff. Tomorrow is the BIG DAY... we get the house... I'm sure I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight with my mind racing on what needs to be done, how things are going to go.
Thankfully my father and my uncle will be helping move boxes tomorrow and then on Saturday my father has 2 of his guys from the shop coming to help move the heavy furniture ( Cynthia's bed set is in the house and so is Zoé's bed set ) it just made more sense to get them as comfortable as possible as we didn't know how long we would be staying at my parents house.
I'm sure going to miss being here though.... I know Princess and Ozzy will be sad to, as much as they don't get along they still tolerate each other enough to be upset when one goes away.
I'll post pictures and video's of our 5 month old later!

Papers Signed
We met with the lawyers this week to sign off on all the papers - and to give them a big fat bank draft with our down payment. In 1 week we start the move.
I was able to get the bank to agree to transfer the fund to the lawyer the day prior to the possesion date so I can get in early on Friday and start cleaning. I have the carpet cleaners coming in the afternoon as well as the Shaw guy to hook us up with cable and internet. Speaking of which take note that our phone number will change to a (403) number by next week... we will keep you posted on if the number stays the same and just the area code changes or if the entire number will change.
I have a feeling it's going to be a long week.... the anticipation is going to keep me up at night I'm sure. I can't wait :0) I will sure miss living at my parents place, afterall I've been here more than 6 months now and with me being home all day I've gotten used to living here. Plus they have been more than helpful with the girls.
On another note - Zoé will be 5 months old next Thursday. She's now learned to roll all the way around and has started murmuring MaMa :0) Holy has she been changing everyday. She's shown a HIGH interest in eating and drinking, but I'm going to wait until she's closer to 6 months before I start feeding her, she's big enough as it is and is only on breast milk. I still haven't gotten her to take a soother, nor a bottle which may pose a bit of an issue come vacation time as I really wasn't planning on breastfeeding her while on our trip... with having to go back to work early I also wanted to start sending her to day care a few hours a few days a week in Feb, but can't do that if she's still breastfeeding. I have a feeling that the reason she's not taking the bottle nor a soother is because she turns her tongue in her mouth sideways.... it's as if she chews on it.... really quite weird.
Cynthia has finally gotten over the nasty cold she's been dragging around with her, and is starting a growth spurt, she's always asking for food, saying I'm Hungry and wanting more at breakfast and dinner. I'm not worried about her putting on a few pounds, she could use it.
Tomorrow Cynthia goes to her first Birthday Party for one of her friends at daycare. It'll be nice to meet some of the parents of the kids at day care. I hardly see any of them let alone have time to chat a bit with them when we cross paths at the daycare center.
Looking forward to this weekend too.... at least I won't be alone all day... it's gotten kinda lonely sitting at home during the day with just me and Zoé. Also we have a photo shoot with our favorite photographer :0)

The coundown continues
I'm started to get super excited about moving.... T Minus 12 days until Moving day. We are meeting with the lawyers this week to hand over the down payment and to sign up all the papers. I've booked the U-Haul truck.... the utilities are almost all set to go... now we just need to pray it will not be as BUTT awful cold as it was last weekend.
Zoé's been super sick this week, all due to our walking germ Cynthia *lol* She's always got something, poor kid. Today is actually the first day since last week that Zoé's being herself ( happy cheerful kid ).
New news... Claude found himself a new job working in Internet security which is very similar to what he was doing at Bell... and to add his office isn't far from mine so we will get to car pool together :0) I actually miss carpooling with him. We used to carpool when he was still working at Air Canada when we met and moved to Vaudreuil. It just made sense seeing we were only 10 mins away from each other.
Sorry that I haven't posted any recent pictures of the girls.... I've attached a few that I took last week when they were both sick.

What's New....
What's new you ask.... Zoé turned 4 months and is changing everyday. Most nights she now sleeps through them *thankgod!* She now holds herself up very well and wants to sit up more to see what is going on around her. She loves the jumperoo and interacts with most of the toys on it now. She hasn't learned how to roll from tummy to back yet so she is still getting upset when she rolls over and gets stuck on her belly.... but I have a feeling that it won't be long now.
I've been trying to get her to start taking a bottle but haven't succeeded yet. Some days she drinks a bit and others she just won't deal with it at all.... kinda frustrating but I'm sure she'll get the hang of it soon enough.
We are slowly starting to get things rolling for the wedding trip in Jan. We have our vaccine's set up for tomorrow.... and Zoé's will be in Dec as she has to get her regular 4 month shots first. I already have some stuff put away like floaters, and goggles that I got cheap at end of season sales.
As for moving.... only 4 more weeks before we take possession of the house. We have bought a new couch and love seat for the main living room as well as a washer and dryer, both of which will be delivered the week after we move in. I also have a carpet cleaner coming the day we take possession so that they can clean the carpets before we start moving furniture in. I'm getting excited about this now.... it will be a lot of work, but one room at a time.

Telus Spark
This past weekend we met up with Andrea, Mike and Huxley and went to the new science center. It was fun... obvisouly there were a few things that Cynthia was too young for but overall we had a good time.
When you first walk in there is a main courtyard type area and there were Hula Hoops everywhere so Cynthia wanted to show us that she could hula hoop.... too funny.

We also found a booth where we could put on silly glasses and it would take a picture of us.

Move In Date
It's Official! We have bought a house... move in date is Dec 2nd. I'm so super excited to be chez moi!
This past week Zoe learned how to roll.... so she gets from back to tummy by throwing her legs to one side... so funny.
She is also a lot stronger in the neck and has very good control of head.
As for Halloween we carved pumpkins on Sunday... or should I say Claude carved pumpkins *lol* I did Cynthia's then had to tend to Zoe so Claude had to do his and mine.

On Saturday coming up Cynthia gets to dress up but because I wanted her Halloween costume to stay a surprise until Halloween mammie bought her a Princess Dress which will be perfect for her dance class dress up. I haven't decided what to make her wear for her daycare party on Halloween. Zoe will be a flower (Cynthia's first costume).
On Sunday I'm taking Cynthia to a Goblins & Ghouls crafting party to make some Halloween crafts.

House Hunting has started
Since Claude has now secured a full time permanent Calgary job we have started our search for a home. Yesterday we went to visit 13 houses.... so far only 1 really stood out as being a good candidate for us considering the funds we have available.
We will be seeing 1 on Sunday as an open house, and 3 more on Monday with our favorite realtor Mike Wiseman.
Hopefully we find something perfect that's not above our price range.

October Activities so far ....
It's been a busy month and I haven't had time to share pictures yet so here goes :
**October 2nd **
Claude, Cynthia, Zoé and I went to the Calgary Corn Maze. We didn't really plan on walking the maze as the girls are still quite young and the stroller isn't all terrain *lol* but we did plan on having a great time which is what we did.
Cynthia panned for Jems stones in the Miner's Quarry.

A rare picture of me with the girls.

She got to ride a cow barrel tractor ride.

Free Face painting... and she could have chosen anything imaginable.... she chose a pink pig *lol*

Cynthia also made a scarecrow *no picture taken... battery died on camera :(*
She also picked out a small pumpkin for Zoé and a slightly bigger one for her, after all she is big now *lol*
** October 7th **
I had bought 2 big pumpkins to crave come Halloween, and put them on the otdoor steps, when Cynthia got home from day care she yelled out " Look mom they grew bigger! " in reference to the 2 pumpkins she had picked at the corn maze.... was too funny.
** October 8th **
Just a few pictures...

** October 9th **
Thanksgiving long weekend....so many things were on the go. My mom planned a big Thanksgiving dinner with my Uncle Dan, Aunt Norma, Uncle Joe, Lumi, Andrea, Mike, Huxley, Jeff (Mike's Brother). We celebrated Huxley's 1st Birthday in the early afternoon.

Love the poutting Cynthia is doing *lol*
Afternoon photo shoot with sweaters knitted for the kids by one of my mom's friends that used to live in Calgary but has since moved back to Quebec.

We also celebrated Andrea & Mike's wedding anniversay, Mom & Dad's wedding anniversary and of course our wedding anniversary.
... as for what's in store this weekend.... Cynthia resumes dance class, Claude is playing a battle ground at the card store.

Changing Weather
We were graced with such beautiful weather this past weekend but now it's fall in full swing. The heat is on and jackets need to be worn :( The rockies are nice and white capped.
So what's been going on with us?
Cynthia started dance class 2 weeks ago and is loving it. She is in a ballet, jazz, tap class. It's so cute to see her all dressed up in her pink outfit.

Cynthia also asked to have her ears pierced so we did that on Sunday - She looks too adorable... I don't have a picture other than the one I posted via webcam on facebook.

Zoe went for her 2 month check up a few weeks late, she is growing well and is above the 97% for her height and above the 75% for her weight. At 2 1/2 months she was 13 Lbs and 2 feet tall ( 24" long ).... She's already out grown all her 6 month PJ's and is now filling in the 9 month ones. She is changing so much every day - she now can sit in the bumbo and in the saucer for short periods of time without falling over because her neck is strong.

She also has started laughing when you tickle her, and she loves to babbal. Next week is vaccine week ... so not looking forward to that but it must be done.
Last weekend we went kite flying for the first time with Cynthia, and she loved it.

This weekend if it's nice ( calling for showers ) we were planning to go to the Calgary Corn Maze, they have a ton of activities for kids including pumpkin picking and a petting zoo so I'm crossing my fingers it'll be nice because I know that Cynthia really wants to pick a pumpkin for herself and Zoe.
Claude has taken some time off work ( Bell MTL ) to take a 2 week contract working for SAIT (the polytechnic school) as a teacher..... He's still looking for the right job.
Lastly we are happy to announce that we have booked our trip to the Dominican Rep for Chantal and Ben's wedding in Jan. We couldn't do it the traditional way with the rest of the wedding party, but we are still going so that's what counts. Cynthia is already excited to go swim with the dolphins.

1st Dentist Apt
Cynthia had her first dentist appointment today - I wish I had brought my camera because it was too funny to see her.
She was sitting in the big chair by herself, wearing sunglasses and earphones watching cartoons from a TV in the celing.

The dentist said she has good teeth and no signs of any cavities :0) She was given a new toothbrush, some flossy thingy's and she was given a token so she can choose a toy from the dispensor.... wild guess on what she choose .... a dinosaur. We also entered her in the draw for movie tickets bbecause she had no cavities :0)
She was so proud to show off her polished teeth when we left.

GERMS!
As everyone knows sending a kid to daycare / school is a receipe for GERMS ... this time Cynthia brought us the Common Cold.
She started sneezing last Thursday so I decided to keep her home on Friday after she had a bad night of sleep and waking up all congested... maybe it was a bad idea... come Sunday Claude was feeling like a freight train had run him over... come Monday I was the same and then poor Zoe got it too! With Zoe being so young the only thing we could do was hope that she didn't get a fever.
Cynthia is doing fine, Claude, Zoe and I are still coughing a bit and blowing our noses but it looks like we survived *lol*
Finally after waiting a whole month we have recieved our Alberta Health Care Cards so now I can feel aat ease knowning that if anything happens I can head over to the clinic and not have to paay anymore ( god knows I'm still waiting for cheques from the RAMQ on apts that I had for myself, Cynthia and Zoe May through July ) BRUTAL!
Oh and I almost forgot ....
BIRTHDAY WEEKEND COMING UP!
Claude's B-day is tomorrow... and in true KD style I ordered something online for Claude and because his shoes arrived at the same time it was hard to explain to him why the box was so big... lol... so I gave him his B-day present early - A nice Fox Winter Jacket :0)
Saturday happens to be my BIG 3-0! I can't believe I'm going to be 30 this year... OMG does time fly! We have a family photo shoot planned courtosey of my favorite photographer "Andrea Wiseman"

2 Months Old
Zoe is now 2 months old - Holy does time fly.
She's growing like a weed - She can now hold her head up a bit longer so she seems to always want to be sitting up. Her nights have been good - down between 9pm and 10pm and will sleep until 4am on most nights.
She's also growing fast that she has out grown all her 3 month stuff already. She is a bit on the chubbier side than Cynthia was but that's okay.
Her eye color is still not confirmed but it's leaning on a grey green / grey brown.
It hasn't been all that warm here lately so we had to dress Zoe up with a sweater. She's my little gnome.

Scrapbooker's Paradise Sketch Challenge
Seeing that I've been to scrapbook I decided what better way to create a page than with a sketch.

Sorry the picture is very small - Blogger hasn't been doing a good job of allowing me to upload so I'm using photobucket which is forcing me to downsize the size of my pictures so they fit in the text box defaulted by this blogger theme! Brutal I can't wait to get my old blog back ( WP )

2 for 1
I finally scrapbooked a page - I've been dying to scrapbook since I don't have much else to do during the day. The only issue is that I'm limited to my supplies as only 2 of my 5 scrapbooking boxes were put aside when the movers dropped off our stuff so the missing boxes have my cricut plug and my cardstock / patterned paper and emblishments.... So I make do with what I have and what I could find at the scrapbook store without going overboard as I already have so much stuff already.
Also Zoe will be 8 weeks old this week and she has started to show more and more of her personality. She now smiles when you go get her from her crib. She loves taking her bath in the big bath, splashing and smiling away. She's already starting to outgrow some of her 3 month outfits.

Bowness Park
This was a much better idea except for the fact that the spray park was nothing but a small trickle of water - We have to find a better spray park, you know the kind where the buckets drop water, flowers spary water and fountains of water shoot up from the ground. I know there are some around but it's a matter of finding it.
We spend a nice late morning early afternoon in the bowness park under a big tree on a blanket. It was for sure the perfect outing for this hot day.

Wildlife Park .... More like caged animal Park in a field
Brutal - we drove 1.5 hours yesterday to see animals in large pens in the middle of the field right off the highway. It was more than cruel to see the animals, when you think of a wildlfe park I personally think Parc Safari, or even a zoo type setting where animals roam large enclosures and are shadded from this Albertan Sun.... but boy was I wrong.
We ended up paying $ 37 to walk around a field looking at a tiger, 2 jaguars, some monkeys and a couple of bears. The only interesting ones were the monkeys and the black bear that was playing in the water. The rest of the animals looked hot and were pacing their pens.... so freaking cruel. There were supposed to be a few shows but we ended up leaving right after noon hour which would have made it 1.5 hours we were there.
On a positive note I did grab some cute pictures of the baby monkey and the bear in the water.

Calaway Park - August 7
So it's not La Ronde or anything close, but it was fun. What I enjoyed the most was the fact that Cynthia was tall enough for most of the adult rides so Claude got a chance to take her on some of the more wild ones which she loved.
PS: Sorry for the small pictures - I was trying a new style of posting pictures but I'll go back to the old way on my next post.
